The World Athletics Center signs 4 year agreement with Shanghai

The World Athletics Center has agreed to a four year development project with the Shanghai Sports Institute. We are excited to assist the Shanghai administration with athlete and coach education as well as elite athlete training. Currently, elite athletes and coaches in the throws, jumps, multi-events, sprints and hurdles are under the tutelage of World Athletics Center coaches and staff in Phoenix, Arizona. Youth talent identification and development onsite in Shanghai will begin this fall. We would like to thank the Shanghai administration for their diligent pursuit of excellence and look forward to a fruitful partnership.

The World Throws Center is excited to announce that we will bring our Phase 1 Coaches' Course to the Gill Athletics Field Factory on January 29th. Our long time friends at Gill have been kind enough to host the clinic for us at their renowned facility where they create all of their amazing implements!

We want to make you the most effective coach you can be, and our education course aims to deliver a total package you can implement to see immediate improvements in your athletes. We will spend the day going over beginning and advanced technical concepts as well as a systematic approach to drills that will help your throwers perfect their technique.

Coaches who complete the course will not only gain valuable and practical coaching resources, but also become part of a national network of certified WTC coaches who all strive to create excellence in coaching through our structured approach to technical development. As a part of the World Throws Center, these coaches will receive discounts on future courses and have the opportunity to host future events.

World Throws Center Drill Pack

The World Throws Center is highly committed to creating an environment of success for your throwers. If you attend our events, you will learn that we believe having the right tools for the job is crucial when it comes to creating technical proficiency. With this in mind we have created the WORLD THROWS CENTER DRILL PACK which provides the athlete and coach with a number of tools that will dramatically increase the speed and effectiveness of technical development. The drill pack includes:

1-Medicine Ball (Women’s=4K, Boy’s=6K, Men’s=8K)
4-12” Cone Markers
3-6” Step Hurdles
3-12” Step Hurdles

When used properly the WTC Drill Pack provides the coach and athlete with instant feedback to accelerate the learning curve for developing proper technique.
